Trip Submission Form

As always, WON is looking for anyone interested in coordinating a trip or event! Whether your interest is to bike, hike, picnic, canoe, skate, go bowling, climb, or go to the theatre, this is the place to post it.

Check the calendar to see which days are open and plan an event of your choosing and then use this form to submit your idea. A sample trip is included below.

Exact details of each event are posted through our members-only newsletter. Only the trip date and title will be published on the public page of the website. WON board members will receive your full contact details, and Only the SIGN UP information you provide will be distributed to the general membership. If you put your phone number or email on the SIGN UP block, it WILL be made available to WON members, but NEVER to the general public.

Our Trip Check List will tell you everything you need to know to prepare you for your event.

Trip Information:
TRIP DATE  If you do not have a specific date in mind, we can assign one to you based on calendar openings.
EVENT TITLE  What are you calling your trip?
DESCRIPTION  Write an interesting narrative about the event. Be creative with your writing!
LENGTH  duration in miles, hours or whatever
DIFFICULTY (D1-D5)  D1 being the easiest and D5 being the hardest
BRING  what people need to bring or if the gear can be rented there
SIGN UP  who to sign up with (name, phone, email)
COST  how much money is involved?
MEET  what time and where should people gather for the trip?
LIMIT  how many people can be accommodated on the trip?
DEADLINE  when is the last date they can register?

Event Title: Chattahoochee River Guided Canoe Trip

Description: Join us for a fun and fascinating sunset voyage on the Chattahoochee River! Guided canoe trips offer an informal introduction to the history and ecology of the Chattahoochee River Watershed, north Georgia's most important natural resource. Along this two-hour educational adventure, you might see beavers, muskrats, herons, ospreys, wildflowers, and a variety of wetland plants. Each trip is led by one of the Chattahoochee Nature Center's (CNC) experienced staff naturalists. This is a fantastic way to unwind from the daily hustle and bustle of everyday life. Don't miss this opportunity to experience one of metro Atlanta's best-kept secrets! CNC provides canoes, paddles, and life jackets. No prior canoeing experience is necessary.

Length: 2 hours

Difficulty: easy to moderate, no experience needed

Bring: Lunch, water, canoe/kayak, paddle, PFD, any special gear (or all equipment can be rented)
